Third Shift- Quality Technician

Job Summary:

The Quality Technician will conduct routine quality and policy & procedure audits throughout production. These audits will include in-process and final inspections along with full layout documentation as required by the customer. The use of precision measuring tools will be used to ensure product is within customer’s specifications.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supports manufacturing by conducting 1st piece inspections.
  • Conducts random shop floor in-process inspection audits.
  • Completes inspection reports when required by customers.
  • Conducts 1st article and PPAP inspections when required by customer.
  • Operates machinery in a safe manner.
  • Maintains 6S (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain, safety) standards in all workstations.
  • Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Skills/Abilties:

  • Knowledge of GD&T.
  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and other advanced measuring equipment.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Intermediate math skills (ex. geometry, trigonometry).
  • Mechanical inclination.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal and written communication.
  • Record keeping skills.
  • Record of attendance.
  • Multi-tasking.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Knowledge of basic CMM operation a plus
  • PCDmis software preferred

Preferred Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience in a machine and/or fabrication shop.

Physical Requirements:

  • Uncontrolled environmental conditions: noise, dust, dirt, and mobile equipment.
  • Routine, repetitive lifting up to 35 lbs., occasional, heavy lifting, and pushing / pulling 10 lbs. regularly, 1 to 10 hours per day.
  • Any combination of sitting, standing, bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, feeling, and walking 8 to 10 hours per day.
  • Ability to work up to 8-10 hour shifts and overtime as required by the work.
  • Use of all limbs, dexterous and steady use of hands and arms for long periods of time.
  • Simultaneous mental and muscular coordination, visual and audio awareness of surrounding area.
