Monti Inc. Participates in Manufacturing Day to Introduce Youth to Manufacturing Careers
Monti Inc.’s commitment to moving the manufacturing industry forward is evident with their support of Manufacturing Day, an introduction for high school students to learn about different manufacturing careers.
Manufacturing day is the first Friday in October but continues throughout the month. The series of events help showcase modern manufacturing careers by encouraging companies and educational institutions to open their doors to students, teachers and community leaders.
As students attended a virtual event with Monti Inc., they learned about the types of work, met current employees and discovered first-hand about Monti’s team atmosphere. In preparation of the tours, Monti Inc. produced a video overview that introduced team members and career paths to those in attendance.
By sharing what it is like to work at Monti, students got a first-hand view into a career in manufacturing. “The culture at Monti is collaborative and exciting,” said Molly Fender, VP Human Resources. “When you walk the floor at Monti, you’ll see people working hard, having fun and solving problems.”
Introducing Monti’s New Haas VF-7, Our Largest CNC Vertical Machining Center
The Haas VF-7 will allow us to machine larger parts than previously possible. This vertical machining center will come equipped with through the spindle coolant and air, wireless part and tool probing, along with high intensity LED lighting. All of this will assist at improving productivity and part quality at our Cincinnati facility.
Welcome Monti’s Anderson EXXACT Series – Model TC 3-Axis Machining Center
The EXXACT Series Moving Table 3-axis machining center sets a new level of CNC accuracy and machining performance. The combination of a highly rigid base, steel weldments and castings, and high accuracy servo system make the EXXACT an ideal choice for machining GPO-3 and G10 electrical insulation fabrications at our Cincinnati facility. We’ll also use it for our aluminum fabrications and machining.
A new high-volume, automated powder coating line for ANSI-61 Gray can accept a 2-ft.-by-4-ft.-by-8-ft. component. The 20,000-sq.-ft. building includes a wash line, dry-off tunnel, powder coating process and curing oven.
The line was installed to control costs and lead times, which means no need to pass on rate increases to customers and no third-party related complications to slow productivity. Monti’s Greenwood facility now controls the complete powder coating process and is already running at an average of 75-percent capacity.
Welcome Monti’s second Mazak Optiplex 3015 Fiber II 2D Laser
Our new “Identical Twin” fiber laser will allow us to offer superior service in thin-gage mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum and other exotics with a two-pallet changer. Actually it’s his bigger brother, our new laser is a 6 kW, adding to our 4 kW laser capacity. Continue reading “Our Dragon Grew Another Head!”
We’ll also help you value engineer your GPO-3 part to shorten lead times while increasing the value of the component.
First, a little background on GPO-3:
GP0-3 is a UL recognized plastic insulation material that performs very well in many high voltage electrical insulating applications that require high strength, flame resistance, low smoke generation and moderate heat resistance. Its most common use is to support and electrically isolate power and electrical distribution equipment.
On 3/22 the state of Ohio issued a Stay at Home Order effective 11:59 p.m. on March 23, 2020, until 11:59 p.m. on April 6, 2020. This order identifies businesses and operations deemed essential and therefore exempt. Monti Inc has been designated an essential business.
As a result, we will continue to conduct business while maintaining our top priority of keeping our employees and customers safe. We plan to split our workforce up into teams with a split schedule to limit physical interaction and plan to work a standard 8-hour day without overtime. We will be following both our local government and the CDC’s recommendations and guidelines closely. We continue to ramp up our daily sanitation schedule of our plant in order to keep our employees healthy.
We plan to prioritize jobs by importance and ask that our customers relay their jobs that can be pushed out to a later delivery date. Please stay in touch with your sales engineer to advise us of your plans to close or remain operational. We will continue to update our website as our status changes so you can be sure to plan accordingly.
