Boschert CU Profi Copper Bar Processing Machine
The Boschert CU Profi copper bar processing machine is a flexible and powerful solution for the efficient processing of copper, aluminum, and steel bars. Monti currently has three CU Profi’s in production and its newest addition will be equipped with 8 punching stations, one of which will be an extra-large station for punching up to 2-inch-diameter profiles. The CU Profi accommodates bars up to 20 feet long, 9 inches wide, and material up to ½ inch thick. The CNC-controlled punching heads use standard thick turret “B” station tools and are equipped with hydraulic material clamping in the Y-axis on both sides of the punching head to ensure straight punching patterns. Also, a new feature on Monti’s latest CU Profi will be the capability for in process CNC dot-peen marking. The material feed system on the CU Profi utilizes special clamps to ensure complete processing with little waste. This feeding unit is supported on a linear guide and AC-servo motor, which guarantees a repeatability of ±.004” on material that is .25” thick.
Bystronic Xact Smart CNC 160 Ton Press Brake
The new generation of the Xact Smart increases the versatility and speed of bending. With its numerous new functions, Bystronic’s Xact Smart offers a decisive plus in bending technology. From the very onset, Bystronic designed this machine tool to offer a performance package with intelligent functions that enable users to produce parts cost-effectively and in high quality. One of the additional functions is the Xact Smart’s insert extension and stroke length expansion. This means that higher tools can now be used with the Xact Smart and enables users to produce parts with lower bending edges. This is particularly useful, for example, bending boxes and drawers. Another feature is the five-axis backgauge. The newly designed Bystronic backgauge systems are faster and thus increase the speed of the bending sequences. The five-axis system will allow Monti to use the Xact Smart to be bend complex 3D parts. A very important additional feature of the Xact Smart is the intelligent sensor system for precise bending. The special Bystronic crowning technology ensures high-precision air bending results. This unique assistant function is only available in this form with press brakes from Bystronic. Thanks to its sensor system, the Xact Smart’s crowning recognizes the position and length of the sheet metal part. This sensor system is integrated directly into the ByVision Bending control. This enables the Xact Smart to automatically control the ideal distribution of the bending force across the entire bending length without requiring the operator to deal with complicated details. This results in precise and consistent angles with every bend.

Monti Inc. Participates in Manufacturing Day to Introduce Youth to Manufacturing Careers
Monti Inc.’s commitment to moving the manufacturing industry forward is evident with their support of Manufacturing Day, an introduction for high school students to learn about different manufacturing careers.
Manufacturing day is the first Friday in October but continues throughout the month. The series of events help showcase modern manufacturing careers by encouraging companies and educational institutions to open their doors to students, teachers and community leaders.
As students attended a virtual event with Monti Inc., they learned about the types of work, met current employees and discovered first-hand about Monti’s team atmosphere. In preparation of the tours, Monti Inc. produced a video overview that introduced team members and career paths to those in attendance.
By sharing what it is like to work at Monti, students got a first-hand view into a career in manufacturing. “The culture at Monti is collaborative and exciting,” said Molly Fender, VP Human Resources. “When you walk the floor at Monti, you’ll see people working hard, having fun and solving problems.”
Monti, Inc has always taken an intentional approach to employee development and training. Tuition Reimbursement has long been offered to employees but was underutilized due to the high upfront costs. Company leaders noticed this, and in an effort to increase participation, the Continuing Education Benefit was created. This program offers to pay for tuition costs up front for all leaders, both present and future, of Monti.
Monti Inc., a family-owned and operated manufacturer in Cincinnati, spreads the values of responsiveness to our customers’ needs, long-term sustainability, and mutually beneficial relationships throughout all 240 employees. Because we have continued to grow since 1971 on family-centric beliefs, we focus on fostering mentoring relationships within our workplace to continuously support our growing team.
Adam Richendollar has been part of the Monti family since 2012. Immediately after high school, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Network Systems Communication Management from DeVry University. Unable to find a job in his field after graduation, Adam started working at Walmart to support his family. He knew this wasn’t a long-term solution and continued to look for a more fulfilling career.

A new high-volume, automated powder coating line for ANSI-61 Gray can accept a 2-ft.-by-4-ft.-by-8-ft. component. The 20,000-sq.-ft. building includes a wash line, dry-off tunnel, powder coating process and curing oven.
The line was installed to control costs and lead times, which means no need to pass on rate increases to customers and no third-party related complications to slow productivity. Monti’s Greenwood facility now controls the complete powder coating process and is already running at an average of 75-percent capacity.
Having grown from a small, developing business to a Tier 1 supplier for the electrical industry, Monti Inc. has learned a thing or two about sustainability over the course of nearly 50 years.
Today the company is a supplier to such original equipment manufacturers Siemens, Schneider Electric™, and Eaton and operates plants in Ohio, South Carolina, and Michigan. On 3/22 the state of Ohio issued a Stay at Home Order effective 11:59 p.m. on March 23, 2020, until 11:59 p.m. on April 6, 2020. This order identifies businesses and operations deemed essential and therefore exempt. Monti Inc has been designated an essential business.
As a result, we will continue to conduct business while maintaining our top priority of keeping our employees and customers safe. We plan to split our workforce up into teams with a split schedule to limit physical interaction and plan to work a standard 8-hour day without overtime. We will be following both our local government and the CDC’s recommendations and guidelines closely. We continue to ramp up our daily sanitation schedule of our plant in order to keep our employees healthy.
We plan to prioritize jobs by importance and ask that our customers relay their jobs that can be pushed out to a later delivery date. Please stay in touch with your sales engineer to advise us of your plans to close or remain operational. We will continue to update our website as our status changes so you can be sure to plan accordingly.
